ISAIL.IN Recommendatory Statement on Enhancing Private Sector Investment in Deep Tech Research & Development in India

ISAIL.IN submits this recommendatory statement to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) addressing critical policy interventions needed to accelerate private sector investments in Deep Tech Research & Development. While India has emerged as a top-ten global deep tech market with over 3,000 startups, the substantial funding gap compared to international competitors requires urgent attention. This statement presents an integrated framework of policy recommendations to transform India’s deep tech innovation landscape, building upon existing government initiatives while addressing implementation challenges.

Implementation Framework

We propose establishing an Inter-Ministerial Deep Tech Committee as envisioned in the NDTSP, charged with coordinating implementation across government departments. This committee should include industry and academic representatives and operate with transparent metrics and timelines for policy implementation.

The recommendations presented here offer a comprehensive framework to transform India’s deep tech ecosystem and unveil its full potential.

ISAIL.IN remains committed to supporting the Ministry in realizing the vision of making India a global deep tech leader, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss these recommendations in greater detail.
